ATMOSPHERIC AND GAS DETECTION ONLY REFRESHER COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

All learners are required to perform a simulated gas detection log to ensure the understanding of Peak Readings, TWA, Stel and other exposure limits during the competency-based assessment to ensure learners have demonstrated the knowledge and skill to successfully use a gas detector. We prefer that you use the gas detector from your workplace to tailor it to your work environment.

NZQA units standards refreshed

18426: Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with Confined Spaces

25510: Operate at atmospheric testing device to determine a suitable atmosphere exists to work safely

ENTRY CRITERIA:

Students that refresh the unit standards must hold the current unit standards or at least one of the units.

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.

2 hours Face-to-face
