CONTRACTOR HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT ON SITE 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify the legislative and organisational health and safety requirements for engaging contractors to perform work on site; explain how to manage the use of contractors on site to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational health and safety requirements; and explain contractor health and safety performance review requirements.

At the completion of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify the legislative and organisational health and safety requirements for engaging contractors to perform work on site.

  • Identify key elements in a contractor’s health and safety plan

  • Explain how to manage the use of contractors on site to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational health and safety requirements.

  • Explain what is needed in an induction

  • Explain what methods of contractor supervision and monitoring would be used in terms of organisational health and safety requirements.

  • Monitoring and reporting requirements for contractor health and safety performance on site are identified and explained

  • Explain contractor health and safety performance review requirement

ENTRY CRITERIA:

Open

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.

Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR functions. If you have students with physical limitations, please contact us to discuss.
