WORKING AT HEIGHTS TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and technical skills to understand the legal requirements around working at heights and preventing a worker from falling. You will learn to plan and implement height safety systems while working at heights. Our scenario-based training covers working from scaffolds, ladders, EWP and other height safety equipment. 

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the completion of the course you will be able to:

  • Explain the legislative requirements and systems used for working at heights

  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment

  • Check and fit a safety harness for working at height

  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment

  • Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall

  • Identify the common types of height safety equipment used in the workplace

  • Identify suitable height work equipment and suitable anchor points for fall restraint and arrest systems

  • Use height safety equipment and plan rescue techniques and emergency procedures for working at height
