SAVE A LIFE CPR AND AED COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

​

Individuals certified in this course possess the skills to: administer prompt first aid, perform basic life support including CPR, address foreign body airway obstructions, and manage life-threatening bleeding. This course is ideal for parents, nannies, care workers, sports people and those performing outdoor activities like tramping, fishing, and cycling.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES:

​

At the completion of the course you will be able to:

​

  • Perform a Primary assessment. (DRSABCD)

  • Able to demonstrate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – adult, child and infant.

  • Assist with Foreign body airway obstruction (choking) – adult, child and infant.

  • Acquire and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

  • Management of life-threatening bleeding.

No units are attached to this course. This course follows content guidelines and meets the requirements of the Resuscitation Council of NZ.

Open

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.
